core + more was founded by Betty Levengood, NSCA-CPT, a nationally certified personal trainer, Pilates instructor and group fitness instructor with over 25 years in the fitness industry. She has experience at both large and small health clubs and fitness studios, with a varied client base of men and women of all ages. This includes clients with a wide range of goals and needs - general fitness needs, rehabilitative needs, and athletes (golfers). Taking all of this into consideration, Betty saw the need for a place where elements of both the Pilates method of exercise, and functional training could be partnered.
The classes at core + more focus on core conditioning as the foundation for a body that is strong, stable, and flexible. No big box gym equipment, just fun 'toys' such as dumbbells, medicine balls, slide boards, kettlebells, foam rollers and your own bodyweight! The Balanced Body Allegro reformer is used in small group reformer classes, as well as in personal training sessions.
